Hadith 230
عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ آخَرَ شَرِكَةٌ فِي عَبْدٍ أَوْ وَلِيدَةٍ فَأَعْتَقَ أَحَدُهُمَا نَصِيبَهُ، فَعَلَى الْمُعْتِقِ أَنْ يُقَامَ عَلَيْهِ مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الْعَبْدِ إِنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ " .
Sulaiman bin Yasar narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If a man and another person share ownership of a slave, and one of them frees his share, then it is obligatory upon the one who freed (his share), if he has wealth, that the remaining value of the slave be paid."
