Hadith 156
عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَأَةَ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ تَعْلِيقِ يَدِ السَّارِقِ فِي عُنُقِهِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " سُنَّةٌ، قَدْ قَطَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَ سَارِقٍ وَعَلَّقَ يَدَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ " .
Abdullah bin Muhairiz said that I asked Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) about hanging the thief's hand around his neck, so he said that this is the Sunnah. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cut off the hand of a thief and hung his hand around his neck.
