It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), who reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the statement of Allah, the Exalted: “﴿وَيُسْقَىمِنْمَاءٍصَدِيدٍيَتَجَرَّعُهُ﴾ (Ibrahim: 17) ‘And he will be given to drink of pus, which he will sip with difficulty.’” He (the Prophet) said: When it is brought near to him, it will be extremely unpleasant to him, and when it is brought close to him, it will scorch his face and the skin of his head will fall off. When he drinks it, it will cut his intestines until it comes out from his back. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: “﴿وَسُقُوامَاءًحَمِيمًافَقَطَّعَأَمْعَاءَهُمْ﴾ (Muhammad: 15) ‘And they will be given boiling water to drink, so it will cut up their intestines.’” And Allah, the Exalted, said: “﴿وَإِنْيَسْتَغِيثُوايُغَاثُوابِمَاءٍكَالْمُهْلِيَشْوِيالْوُجُوهَبِئْسَالشَّرَابُوَسَاءَتْمُرْتَفَقًا﴾ (Al-Kahf: 29) ‘And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like molten brass, which will scald their faces. What a terrible drink and what an evil resting place!’”
