Hadith 119
عَنْ رِشْدِينَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلانِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيُّ، أَنَّ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ، وَعُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ حَدَّثَاهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرَغَ اللَّهُ مِنْ قَضَاءِ الْخَلْقِ، فَيَبْقَى رَجُلانِ يُؤْمَرُ بِهِمَا إِلَى النَّارِ فَيَلْتَفِتُ أَحَدُهُمَا، فَيَقُولُ الْجبَّارُ : رُدُّوهُ، فَيُرَدُّ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : لِمَ الْتَفَتَّ ؟ قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَرْجُو أَنْ تُدْخِلَنِي الْجَنَّةَ، قَالَ : فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، قَالَ : فَيَقُولُ : هَذَا عَطَاءُ رَبِّي حَتَّى إِنِّي لَوْ أَطْعَمْتُ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ مَا نَقَصَ ذَلِكَ مِمَّا عِنْدِي شَيْئًا "، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا ذَكَرَهُ يُرَى السُّرُورُ فِي وَجْهِهِ .
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid and Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the Day of Resurrection comes and Allah has finished judging the creation, two men will remain. They will be ordered to be taken towards the Fire, so one of them will turn and look back. The Compeller (Allah) will say: 'Return him,' so he will be returned, and it will be said to him: 'Why did you look back?' He will say: 'I was hoping that He would admit me to Paradise.'" He said: "He will be ordered to be taken towards Paradise." He said: "He will say: 'Indeed, my Lord has given me (so much) that if I were to feed all the people of Paradise, it would not decrease what I have (to feed) in the least.'" Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned this, happiness could be seen on his face.
