It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned this hadith and said: “Isa (peace be upon him) will say: Shall I not direct you to the unlettered Prophet? So they will come to me, and Allah will permit me to stand, and my gathering will return with the purest fragrance that anyone has ever smelled, until I come to my Lord, and He will accept my intercession, and He will make light for me from the hair of my head to the nails of my feet. Then the disbelievers will say: Surely the believers have found someone to intercede for them, so who will intercede for us? They will say: None but Iblis, he is the one who led us astray. So they will come to him, and he will stand, and his gathering will return with the foulest stench that anyone has ever smelled, then he will lead them into Hell and at that time he will say: ‘And when the matter (of Paradise or Hell) has been decided, Satan will say: Indeed, Allah promised you the promise of truth, and I promised you but I betrayed you.’”
