Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that meat was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and its foreleg was raised towards him, and he liked it. He (peace be upon him) tore from it with his teeth, then said: "On the Day of Resurrection, I will be the leader of the people. Do you know how that will be? Allah will gather all the first and the last people in one plain. A caller will make them hear, the sight will encompass them, and the sun will come near. The people will reach such an extent of grief and distress that they will not be able to bear nor endure it. The people will say to one another: 'You must go to Adam (peace be upon him).' So they will come to Adam (peace be upon him) and say: 'You are the father of mankind, Allah created you with His own hand, and He breathed into you of His spirit, and He commanded the angels, so they prostrated to you. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in? Do you not see what has befallen us?' So Adam (peace be upon him) will say to them: 'Indeed, my Lord is so angry today as He has never been before, nor will He ever be so angry after this. And indeed, He forbade me from that tree, but I disobeyed Him. Woe to myself, woe to myself! Go to someone else, go to Nuh (Noah, peace be upon him).' Then they will come to Nuh (peace be upon him) and say: 'O Nuh! You are the first Messenger sent to the people of the earth, and Allah named you a grateful servant. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in? Do you not see what has befallen us?' He will say: 'Indeed, my Lord is so angry today as He has never been before, nor will He ever be so angry after this. And indeed, I had one supplication, and I used it against my people. Woe to myself, woe to myself! Go to someone else, go to Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him).' They will come to Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and say: 'O Ibrahim! You are Allah's Prophet and His friend among the people of the earth. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?' He will say to them: 'Indeed, my Lord is so angry today as He has never been before, nor will He ever be so angry after this. And indeed, I told three untrue statements.' Abu Hayyan (the narrator) mentioned them in the hadith. 'Woe to myself, woe to myself! Go to someone else, go to Musa (Moses, peace be upon him).' They will come to Musa (peace be upon him) and say: 'O Musa! You are Allah's Messenger. He preferred you over the people with His messages and His speech. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?' He will say: 'Indeed, my Lord is so angry today as He has never been before, nor will He ever be so angry after this. And indeed, I killed a soul whom I was not commanded to kill. Woe to myself, woe to myself! Go to someone else, go to Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him).' They will come to Isa (peace be upon him) and say: 'O Isa! You are Allah's Messenger and His word which He cast to Maryam (Mary, peace be upon her), and a spirit from Him, and you spoke to the people in the cradle. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?' Isa (peace be upon him) will say: 'Indeed, my Lord is so angry today as He has never been before, nor will He ever be so angry after this.' And he will not mention any sin. 'Woe to myself, woe to myself! Go to someone else, go to Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).' They will come to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and say: 'O Muhammad! You are the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets. Allah has forgiven your past and future sins. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?' I will go and come under the Throne, then I will fall in prostration to my Lord. Then Allah will open for me from His praise and beautiful words such as He has never opened for anyone before me. Then it will be said: 'O Muhammad! Raise your head, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be accepted.' So I will raise my head and say: 'My Ummah, O my Lord, my Ummah, O my Lord, my Ummah, O my Lord!' Then it will be said to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): 'Admit from your Ummah through the rightmost gate of Paradise those who will have no reckoning, and they will share with the people in the other gates besides that.' Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'By Him in Whose hand is my soul! The distance between two panels of the gates of Paradise is like the distance between Makkah and Hajar, or between Makkah and Busra.'"
