Hadith 77
عَنْ زَائِدَةَ بْنِ قُدَامَةَ، نا السَّائِبُ بْنُ حُبَيْشٍ الْكَلاعِيُّ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمَرِيِّ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ : أَيْنَ مَسْكَنُكَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : فِي قَرْيَةٍ دُونَ حِمْصَ، فَقَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ ثَلاثَةٍ فِي قَرْيَةٍ وَلا بَدْوٍ لا تُقَامُ فِيهِمُ الصَّلاةُ إِلا اسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ الشَّيْطَانُ، فَعَلَيْكَ بِالْجَمَاعَةِ فَإِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُ الذِّئْبُ الْقَاصِيَةَ "، قَالَ السَّائِبُ : يَعْنِي بِالْجَمَاعَةِ : الْجَمَاعَةَ فِي الصَّلاةِ .
Ma’dan bin Abi Talhah Yamari said that Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Where is your residence? I said: In a village before Homs. Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Whenever three people reside in a village or in the countryside and prayer is not established among them, then surely Satan overcomes them. So adhere to the congregation, for indeed the wolf eats the sheep that strays far.” Sa’ib (bin Hubaysh) said: By congregation, he meant the congregation of prayer.
