Abu Muslim said that I asked Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), "Which part of the night is the best for standing (in prayer)?" Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I also asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) just as you have asked me, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'The middle of the night.'" 'Awf (the narrator) is in doubt, and those who do it are few.
