Hadith 25
عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ سَهْلٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، قَالَ : بَيْنَا نَحنُ نَقْتَرِئُ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كِتَابٌ وَاحِدٌ وَفِيكُمُ الأَخْيَارُ، وَفِيكُمُ الأَحْمَرُ وَالأَسْوَدُ، اقْرَءُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ أَقْوَامٌ يَقْرَؤُونَ، يُقِيمُونَ حُرُوفَهُ كَمَا يُقَامُ السَّهْمُ، لا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، يَتَعَجَّلُونَ أَجْرَهُ وَلا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl Sa‘idi (may Allah be pleased with him) that while we were reciting (the Qur’an), suddenly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and he said: “All praise is due to Allah, the Book is one and among you are the red and the black. Recite (the Qur’an) before there come people who will recite it, straighten its letters as an arrow is straightened, but it will not go beyond their collarbones. They will seek its reward quickly and will not delay in it.”
