Hadith 7
عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ بَهْرَامَ، نا شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ غَنْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الأَشْعَرِيِّ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا قَضَى صَلاتَهُ أَقْبلَ إِلَى النَّاسِ بِوَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، اسْمَعُوا وَاعْقِلُوا وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ لِلَّهِ عِبَادًا لَيْسُوا بِأَنْبِيَاءَ، وَلا شُهَدَاءَ، يَغْبِطُهُمُ النَّبِيُّونَ وَالشُّهَدَاءُ عَلَى مَجَالِسِهِمْ وَقُرْبِهِمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ "، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَعْرَابِ مِنْ قَاصِيَةِ النَّاسِ، وَأَلْوَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، مِنَ النَّاسِ لَيْسُوا بِأَنْبِيَاءَ وَلا شُهَدَاءَ يَغْبِطُهُمُ النَّبِيُّونَ وَالشُّهَدَاءُ عَلَى مَجَالِسِهِمْ، وَقُرْبِهِمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ انْعَتْهُمْ لَنَا، صِفْهُمْ لَنَا، فَسُرَّ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِسُؤَالِ الأَعْرَابِيِّ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هُمْ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَفْنَاءِ النَّاسِ، وَنَوَازِعِ الْقَبَائِلِ، لَمْ تَصِلْ بَيْنَهُمْ أَرْحَامٌ مُتَقَارِبَةٌ، تَحَابُّوا فِي اللَّهِ وَتَصَافَوْا فِيهِ، يَضَعُ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ فَيُجْلِسُهُمْ عَلَيْهَا، فَيَجْعَلُ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَثِيَابَهُمْ نُورًا، يَفْزَعُ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَلا يَفْزَعُونَ، وَهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ لا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Malik Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that indeed, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) completed his prayer, he turned his face towards the people and said: "O people! Listen, understand, and know that surely there are some servants of Allah who are neither prophets nor martyrs, (but) the prophets and martyrs will envy them because of their gatherings and their closeness to Allah." So, a man from among the distant Bedouins sat on his knees and, pointing towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his hand, said: O Messenger of Allah! Are there some people among mankind who are neither prophets nor martyrs, (but) the prophets and martyrs will envy them because of their gatherings and their closeness to Allah? Please describe their qualities to us and portray them for us. At the question of this Bedouin, the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became cheerful, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are unknown people, belonging to foreign tribes, their mutual acquaintance is not due to close kinship, they loved each other for the sake of Allah and united upon that. Allah Almighty will make pulpits of light for them on the Day of Resurrection, then He will seat them upon them, their faces will be radiant and their garments will also be radiant. People will be in fear on the Day of Resurrection, but they will not be afraid, and they are the friends of Allah, upon whom there will be no fear, nor will they grieve."
