Hadith 93

عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ : " مَا أَعْرِفُ مِنْكُمْ شَيْئًا كُنْتُ أَعْهَدُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ قَوْلُكُمْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ "، قُلْنَا : يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ الصَّلاةَ ؟ قَالَ : " قَدْ صَلَّيْتُمْ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ، أَوَ كَانَتْ تِلْكَ صَلاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : عَلَى أَنِّي لَمْ أَرَ زَمَانًا خَيْرًا لِلْعَامِلِ مِنْ زَمَانِكُمْ هَذَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I do not recognize anything among you except that which I was familiar with during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), except your saying ‘La ilaha illallah’. We said: And not even the prayer, O Abu Hamzah!? He said: Indeed, you have performed the prayer (‘Asr) after the sun has set; was this the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Then he said: Despite that, I have not seen any era better for the one who acts than your present time.
