حَدَّثَنَا جَدِّيْ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللّٰهِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِيْ حَبِیْبٌ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، عَنْ مَوْلَاةٍ لَہُمْ یُقَالُ لَهَا لَیْلٰی، عَنْ أُمٍّ عَمَارَةِ بِنْتِ کَعْبٍ قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلَی رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَدَّمْتُ إِلَیْهِ طَعَامًا فَقَالَ لِيْ: ((کُلِيْ))، فَقُلْتُ: أَنَا صَائِمَةٌ۔ قَالَ: ((إِنَّ الصَّائِمَ إِذَا أُکِلَ عِنْدَهُ الطَّعَامُ صَلَّتْ عَلَیْهِ الْمَلَائِکَةُ حَتَّی یَفْرُغَ مِنْهُ((أَوْ قَالَ: ((حَتَّی یَقْضُوْا أَکْلَهُمْ))
Sayyidah Umm ‘Ammarah bint Ka‘b (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my house, and I presented food before him. He (peace be upon him) said to me: “Eat.” I said that I am fasting. He (peace be upon him) said: “Indeed, when food is eaten in the presence of a fasting person, the angels pray for mercy and forgiveness for him, until they finish (eating).” Or he said: “Until they finish their food.”
