Hadith 39

عَنْ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْغَازِ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الأَسْقَعِ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي فَلْيَظُنَّ بِي مَا شَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah says: I am as My servant thinks of Me, so let him think of Me as he wishes.”
