Hadith 30

عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، سَمِعَهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : " ثَلاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ حَلاوَةَ الإِيمَانِ : مَنْ أَحَبَّ الْمَرْءَ لا يُحِبُّهُ إِلا لِلَّهِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُقْذَفُ فِي النَّارِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فِي الْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنْقَذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who reports from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: “Whoever possesses three qualities will taste the sweetness of faith: that he loves someone and loves him only for the sake of Allah; that Allah and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, are more beloved to him than anything else; and that he would rather be thrown into the fire than return to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it.”
