Abu Imran Jouni (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): I have pledged allegiance to Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the condition that I will fight against the people of Sham. He said: Perhaps you want to go around saying: Jundub told me this, Jundub told me that. I said: No, I am only asking you for a fatwa, please do give me a fatwa. He said: Pay ransom for yourself with your wealth. I said: That will not be accepted from me. Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I was a strong young man, and so-and-so (Companion) told me that indeed he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection, the slain will come clinging to the killer and will say: O Lord! He killed me. Allah will say to him: For what reason did you kill him? He will say: For the kingdom of so-and-so. Therefore, I want you not to be that person."
