Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa narrates that we passed by "Rabadha" when suddenly there was a tent and a pavilion. We asked, "Whose is this?" It was said that it belongs to Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him). I entered upon him and said: May Allah have mercy on you. Why do you not go out to the people? Surely, you are in such a position in this matter that your word would be listened to. He replied that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the matter is that soon there will be tribulation and division, so strike your sword on the width of Uhud, break your arrows, cut your bowstring, and sit in your house." He said: I did exactly what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me, and suddenly a sword was tied to the pillar of the tent. He drew it, and unexpectedly it was a wooden sword. Then he said: Indeed, I have done with my sword exactly what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me, and I have prepared it; with it, I frighten the people.
