Abu Nadrah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the one who was present at the sermon of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Mina related this hadith to me. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood during the days of Tashreeq and said: "O people! Indeed, your Lord is one and indeed, your father is one. Listen! There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, nor of a non-Arab over an Arab, nor of a black over a red, nor of a red over a black, except by the piety of Allah. Behold! Have I conveyed (the message)?" They said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has conveyed (the message). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is necessary that those who are present convey it to those who are absent." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What month is this?" They said: It is the sacred month. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What day is this?" They said: It is the sacred day. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What city is this?" They said: It is the sacred city. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, your blood and your wealth (the narrator said: and I think he said: and your honor) are sacred for you, just as the sanctity of this city, in this month, on this day of yours. Behold! Have I conveyed (the message)?" They said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has conveyed (the message). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So it is necessary that those who are present convey it to those who are not present."
