عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ عِيَاضٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : أَنَّ رَجُلا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ لِي جَارِيَةً، وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ آتِيَهَا وَأَحْتَبِسَهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَا إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَيْسَ بِرَادٍّ شَيْئًا أَرَادَهُ اللَّهُ "، أَوْ قَالَ : " مَانِعٌ شَيْئًا أَرَادَهُ اللَّهُ "، قَالَ : ثُمَّ جَاءَ الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ جَارِيَتِي تِلْكَ وَلَدَتْ وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ أَحْتَبِسُهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that indeed a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Indeed, I have a slave woman and I intend to go to her and prevent her (from becoming pregnant)." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen! Indeed, that which Allah wills, this thing will certainly not prevent it," or he said: "That which Allah wills, nothing can prevent it." Then that man came and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Indeed, my slave woman has given birth to a child."
