عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، وَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ جَمِيعًا، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الأَمَةِ إِذَا زَنَتْ وَلَمْ تُحْصَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ بِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ، بَعْدَ الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ " وَالضَّفِيرُ : هُوَ الْحَبْلُ .
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) both narrate that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a slave-girl: if she commits adultery and is not married, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If she commits adultery, then flog her; then if she commits adultery, then flog her; then if she commits adultery, then flog her; then sell her, even if it is in exchange for a rope of hair." After the third or fourth time. And "dhafeer" refers to a rope.
