Hadith 132

عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ مَرْزُوقٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ : أَظُنُّهُ يَرْفَعُهُ، قَالَ : " يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَالْكَبْشِ الأَمْلَحِ، فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، فَيُقَالُ : يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ، هَذَا الْمَوْتُ، يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ، هَذَا الْمَوْتُ، فَيُذْبَحُ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ، فَلَوْ مَاتَ أَحَدٌ فَرَحًا لَمَاتَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَلَوْ مَاتَ أَحَدٌ حُزْنًا لَمَاتَ أَهْلُ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: I (the narrator) think that he narrated it as marfu‘: "Death will be brought on the Day of Resurrection in the form of a speckled ram, and it will be made to stand between Paradise and the Fire. It will be said: O people of Paradise! This is death. O people of the Fire! This is death. Then it will be slaughtered while they are looking on." If anyone were to die of joy, the people of Paradise would surely die, and if anyone were to die of grief, the people of the Fire would surely die.
