باب الأَمْرِ بِالصَّبْرِ عِنْدَ ظُلْمِ الْوُلاَةِ وَاسْتِئْثَارِهِمْ:
Chapter: The command to be patient in the face of oppressive rulers and their selfishness
Hadith 1845
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ حُضَيْرٍ " أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ خَلَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا تَسْتَعْمِلُنِي كَمَا اسْتَعْمَلْتَ فُلَانًا ؟ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " ،
It has been narrated on the authority of Usaid bin Hudair that a man from the Ansar took the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) aside and said to him: Will you not appoint me governor as you have appointed so and so? He (the Messenger of Allah) (ﷺ) said: You will surely come across preferential treatment after me, so you should be patient until you meet me at the Cistern (Haud-i-Kauthar).
Hadith 1845
وحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَي بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ حُضَيْرٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ خَلَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ ،
This tradition has been narrated on the same authority through a different chain of transmitters.
Hadith 1845
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ خَلَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Another version of the tradition narrated on the authority of Shu'bah does not include the words:" He took the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) aside."
