باب تَلْقِينِ الْمَوْتَى لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ:
Chapter: Prompt the Dying person to say La Ilaha Ill-Allah
2باب مَا يُقَالُ عِنْدَ الْمُصِيبَةِ:
Chapter: What should be said at times of calamity?
3باب مَا يُقَالُ عِنْدَ الْمَرِيضِ وَالْمَيِّتِ:
Chapter: What is to be said in the presence of the sick and the dying
4باب فِي إِغْمَاضِ الْمَيِّتِ وَالدُّعَاءِ لَهُ إِذَا حُضِرَ:
Chapter: Closing the eyes of the deceased and supplicating for him, when he dies
5باب فِي شُخُوصِ بَصَرِ الْمَيِّتِ يَتْبَعُ نَفْسَهُ:
Chapter: The upward gaze of the deceased follows his soul
6باب الْبُكَاءِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ:
Chapter: Crying for the deceased
7باب فِي عِيَادَةِ الْمَرْضَى:
Chapter: Visiting the sick
8باب فِي الصَّبْرِ عَلَى الْمُصِيبَةِ عِنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الأُولَى:
Chapter: Patience in bearing calamity when it first strikes
9باب الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ:
Chapter: The deceased is tormented because of his family's crying for him
10باب التَّشْدِيدِ فِي النِّيَاحَةِ:
Chapter: Stern warning against wailing
11باب نَهْيِ النِّسَاءِ عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ:
Chapter: Prohibition of women attending funerals
12باب فِي غَسْلِ الْمَيِّتِ:
Chapter: Washing the deceased
13باب فِي كَفَنِ الْمَيِّتِ:
Chapter: Shrouding the deceased
14باب تَسْجِيَةِ الْمَيِّتِ:

15باب فِي تَحْسِينِ كَفَنِ الْمَيِّتِ:
Chapter: Shrouding the deceased well

Chapter: Hastening with the funeral
17باب فَضْلِ الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ وَاتِّبَاعِهَا:
Chapter: The virtue of offering the funeral prayer and following the bier
18باب مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ مِائَةٌ شُفِّعُوا فِيهِ:
Chapter: If one hundred (people) pray for a person, they will intercede for him
19باب مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعُونَ شُفِّعُوا فِيهِ:
Chapter: If forty people pray for a person, they will intercede for him
20باب فِيمَنْ يُثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرٌ أَوْ شَرٌّ مِنَ الْمَوْتَى:
Chapter: The deceased who is spoken well of and the one who is spoken badly of
21باب مَا جَاءَ فِي: «مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ»:
Chapter: What was narrated concerning one who finds relief and one from whom relief is found
22باب فِي التَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ:
Chapter: Saying the takbir over the deceased
23باب الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْقَبْرِ:
Chapter: Praying over the grave

27باب أَيْنَ يَقُومُ الإِمَامُ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ لِلصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ:
Chapter: Where the Imam should stand in relation to the deceased when performing the funeral prayer
28باب رُكُوبِ الْمُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ:
Chapter: Riding back after the funeral
29باب فِي اللَّحْدِ وَنَصْبِ اللَّبِنِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ:
Chapter: The Lahd (Niche), and setting up bricks over the deceased
30باب جَعْلِ الْقَطِيفَةِ فِي الْقَبْرِ:
Chapter: Putting a piece of velvet in the grave
31باب الأَمْرِ بِتَسْوِيَةِ الْقَبْرِ:
Chapter: The command to level the grave
32باب النَّهْيِ عَنْ تَجْصِيصِ الْقَبْرِ وَالْبِنَاءِ عَلَيْهِ:
Chapter: The prohibition of plastering graves or erecting structures over them
33باب النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْجُلُوسِ عَلَى الْقَبْرِ وَالصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ:
Chapter: Prohibition against sitting and praying on graves
34باب الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ:
Chapter: Offering the funeral prayer in the masjid
35باب مَا يُقَالُ عِنْدَ دُخُولِ الْقُبُورِ وَالدُّعَاءِ لأَهْلِهَا:
Chapter: What is to be said when entering the graveyard and supplicating for its occupants
36باب اسْتِئْذَانِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ أُمِّهِ:
Chapter: The prophet (saws) asked his Lord for permission to visit the grave of his mother
37باب تَرْكِ الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْقَاتِلِ نَفْسَهُ:
Chapter: Leaving the funeral prayer for one who committed suicide
