باب فَضْلِ مَنْ يَقُومُ بِالْقُرْآنِ وَيُعَلِّمُهُ وَفَضْلِ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ حِكْمَةً مِنْ فِقْهٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ فَعَمِلَ بِهَا وَعَلَّمَهَا.
Chapter: The virtue of one who acts in accordance with the Qur’an and teaches it. And the virtue of one who learns wisdom from Fiqh or other types of knowledge, then acts upon it and teaches it
Hadith 815
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ كلهم ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ ، رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ ، فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ ، آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا ، فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُهُ ، آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ " .
Salim narrated on the authority of his father (Ibn 'Umar) that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: Envy is not justified but in case of two persons only: one who, having been given (knowledge of) the Qur'an by Allah, recites it during the night and day (and also acts upon it) and a man who, having been given wealth by God, spends it during the night and the day (for the welfare of others. seeking the pleasure of the Lord).
Hadith 815
حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا عَلَى اثْنَتَيْنِ ، رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ هَذَا الْكِتَابَ فَقَامَ بِهِ ، آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهِ ، آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ " .
Salim son of 'Abdullah bin 'Umar is reported to have said on the authority of his father that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: Envy is not justified but in case of two persons only: one who, having been given (knowledge of) the Qur'an by Allah, recites it during the night and during the day (and acts upon it), and the person who, having been given wealth by God, gives it in charity during the night and the day.
Hadith 816
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ ، رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا ، فَسَلَّطَهُ عَلَى هَلَكَتِهِ فِي الْحَقِّ ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ حِكْمَةً ، فَهُوَ يَقْضِي بِهَا وَيُعَلِّمُهَا " .
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Waki‘ narrated to us, from Isma‘il, from Qays, who said: ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud said. And Ibn Numayr narrated to us, my father narrated to us, and Muhammad ibn Bishr, they said: Isma‘il narrated to us, from Qays, who said: I heard ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no envy except in two: a man whom Allah has given wealth and He enables him to spend it in the truth, and a man whom Allah has given wisdom, so he judges by it and teaches it."
Hadith 817
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْحَارِثِ ، لَقِيَ عُمَرَ بِعُسْفَانَ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَسْتَعْمِلُهُ عَلَى مَكَّةَ ، فَقَالَ : مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْتَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْوَادِي ؟ فَقَالَ : ابْنَ أَبْزَى ، قَالَ : وَمَنْ ابْنُ أَبْزَى ؟ قَالَ : مَوْلًى مِنْ مَوَالِينَا ، قَالَ : فَاسْتَخْلَفْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَوْلًى ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ قَارِئٌ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَإِنَّهُ عَالِمٌ بِالْفَرَائِضِ ، قَالَ عُمَرُ : أَمَا إِنَّ نَبِيَّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَدْ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ أَقْوَامًا ، وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ " .
'Amir bin Wathila reported that Nafi' bin 'Abdul Harith met 'Umar at 'Usfan and 'Umar had employed him as collector in Makkah. He (Hadrat 'Umar) said to him (Nafi'): Whom have you appointed as collector over the people of the valley? He said: Ibn Abza. He said: Who is Ibn Abza? He said: He is one of our freed slaves. He (Hadrat 'Umar) said: So you have appointed a freed slave over them. He said: He is well versed In the Book of Allah. the Exalted and Great, and he is well versed In the commandments and injunctions (of the Shari'ah). 'Umar said: So the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: By this Book, Allah would exalt some peoples and degrade others.
Hadith 817
وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ وَاثِلَةَ اللَّيْثِيُّ ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْحَارِثِ الْخُزَاعِيَّ ، لَقِيَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ بِعُسْفَانَ ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ .
This hadith has been narrated by Zuhri through another chain of transmitters.
