باب بَيَانِ غِلَظِ تَحْرِيمِ إِسْبَالِ الإِزَارِ وَالْمَنِّ بِالْعَطِيَّةِ وَتَنْفِيقِ السِّلْعَةِ بِالْحَلِفِ وَبَيَانِ الثَّلاَثَةِ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ:
Chapter: Clarifying the emphatic prohibition of letting one's garment hang below the ankles (isbal), reminding others of one's gift and selling goods by means of a false oath; Mention of the three to whom Allah, Most High, will not speak on the day of resurrection, nor look at them, nor sanctify them, and theirs will be a painful torment
Hadith 106
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ " ، قَالَ : فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ثَلَاثَ مِرَارًا ، قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : خَابُوا ، وَخَسِرُوا ، مَنْ هُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْمُسْبِلُ ، وَالْمَنَّانُ ، وَالْمُنَفِّقُ سِلْعَتَهُ بِالْحَلِفِ الْكَاذِبِ " .
It is narrated o the authority of Abu Dharr (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may ace he upon him) observed: Three are the (persons) with whom Allah would neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor would look at them nor would absolve the and there is a painful chastisement for them. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) repeated it three times. Abu Dharr (RA) remarked: They failed and they lost; who are these persons, Messenger of Allah? (ﷺ) Upon this he (the Holy) Prophet) observed: They are: the dragger of lower garment, the recounter of obligation the seller of goods by false oath. ________
Hadith 106
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، الْمَنَّانُ الَّذِي لَا يُعْطِي شَيْئًا إِلَّا مَنَّهُ ، وَالْمُنَفِّقُ سِلْعَتَهُ بِالْحَلِفِ الْفَاجِرِ ، وَالْمُسْبِلُ إِزَارَهُ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr (RA) who narrates that the Prophet (ﷺ) observed: Three are the persons with whom Allah would not speak on the Day of Resurrection: the bestower of gift who does not give anything but by laying obligation on him, the seller of goods who sells them by taking false oath and one who hangs low his lower garment.
Hadith 106
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ ، وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ ، وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ " .
Bishr bin Khalid has narrated this hadith on the authority of Sulaiman with the same chain of transmitters with this addition: Allah shall neither speak nor look at nor absolve then, and there is a tormenting punishment for them.s
Hadith 107
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ ، قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ : " وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ، شَيْخٌ زَانٍ ، وَمَلِكٌ كَذَّابٌ ، وَعَائِلٌ مُسْتَكْبِرٌ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: Three (are the persons) with whom Allah would neither speak, nor would He absolve them on the Day of Resurrection. Abu Mu'awiyahh (RA)h (RA) added: He would not look at them and there is grievous torment for them: the aged adulterer, the liar king and the proud destitute.
Hadith 108
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ثَلَاثٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ، رَجُلٌ عَلَى فَضْلِ مَاءٍ بِالْفَلَاةِ يَمْنَعُهُ مِنِ ابْنِ السَّبِيلِ ، وَرَجُلٌ بَايَعَ رَجُلًا بِسِلْعَةٍ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ، فَحَلَفَ لَهُ بِاللَّهِ لَأَخَذَهَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَصَدَّقَهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ ، وَرَجُلٌ بَايَعَ إِمَامًا ، لَا يُبَايِعُهُ إِلَّا لِدُنْيَا ، فَإِنْ أَعْطَاهُ مِنْهَا ، وَفَى وَإِنْ لَمْ يُعْطِهِ مِنْهَا لَمْ يَفِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated on the authority of Abu Bakr (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Three are the persons with whom Allah would neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor would He look towards them, nor would purify them (from sins), and there would be a tormenting chastisement for them: a person who in the waterless desert has more water (than his need) and he refuses to give it to the traveller and a person who sold a commodity to another person in the afternoon and took an oath of Allah that he had bought it at such and such price and he (the buyer) accepted it to be true though it was not a fact, and a person who pledged allegiance to the Imam but for the sake of the world (material gains). And if the Imam bestowed on him (something) out of that (worldly riches) he stood by his allegiance and if he did not give him, he did not fulfil the allegiance.
Hadith 108
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الأَشْعَثِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْثَرٌ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ : وَرَجُلٌ سَاوَمَ رَجُلًا بِسِلْعَةٍ .
The same hadith has been transmitted by another chain of transmitters with the exception of these words: He offered for sale a commodity to another person.
Hadith 108
وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أُرَاهُ مَرْفُوعًا ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ، رَجُلٌ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، عَلَى مَالِ مُسْلِمٍ فَاقْتَطَعَهُ ، وَبَاقِي حَدِيثِهِ نَحْوُ حَدِيثِ الأَعْمَشِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that he (the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) ) observed: Three are the persons with whom Allah would neither speak (on the Day of Resurrection) nor would He look at them, and there would be a painful chastisement for them, a person who took an oath on the goods of a Muslim in the afternoon and then broke it. The rest of the hadith is the same as narrated by A'mash.
