Hadith 959

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اتَّبَعْتُمْ جَنَازَةً فَلَا تَجْلِسُوا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you follow a bier, do not sit until it is placed on the (ground).
