Hadith 938

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ : " كُنَّا نُنْهَى عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ ، وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا " .
Umm 'Atiyya reported: We were forbidden to follow the bier, but it was not made absolute on us.
