This hadith is listed as number 1872 in Maktaba Shamila

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Would any one of you like, when he returns to his family, to find there three large, fat, pregnant she-camels? We said: Yes. Upon this he said: Three verses that one of you recites in his prayer are better for him than three large, fat, pregnant she-camels.

Explanation & Benefits

Hadith Commentary:
Vocabulary of the Hadith:
(1)
Khalifaat:
This is the plural of khalifah.
It refers to a pregnant she-camel that has passed half of her gestation period.

(2)
‘Izam:
This is the plural of ‘azim,
meaning great in stature,
siman,
the plural of sameen, meaning fat,
large and well-built.

Benefits and Issues:
For a Muslim who, believing in the promises of Allah and His Messenger, performs prayer and recites the Qur’an therein with utmost respect and reverence, the reward for reciting a single verse is better than receiving a large, fat, and heavily pregnant she-camel. Among the Arabs, the camel was considered the most superior, excellent, and valuable mount, serving as their companion in both travel and residence, in peace and in war. Thus, for a Muslim, the most precious possession and highest wealth are righteous deeds, which will benefit in the everlasting life of the Hereafter. This is not the temporary and perishable wealth of this world, no matter how valuable and excellent it may be.
In the end, it is perishable.

Benefits and Issues:
(1)
The benefit of reciting the Noble Qur’an is so great that even the greatest wealth of this world is insignificant in comparison to it.

(2)
The mention of pregnant she-camels is because, in that era, they were considered by the Arabs to be the finest and most valuable property.

(3)
The reward for recitation (tilawah) in prayer (salah) is greater than the reward for recitation outside of prayer.
