This hadith is listed as number 7422 in Maktaba Shamila

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: A servant says, My wealth, my wealth, but out of his wealth three things are only his: whatever he eats and makes use of or by means of which he dresses himself and it wears out or he gives as charity, and this is what he stored for himself (as a reward for the Hereafter), and what is beyond this (it is of no use to you) because you are to depart and leave it for other people.

Hadith Commentary:
Vocabulary of the Hadith:
Iqtana:
He collected,
He stored up.

Benefits and Issues:
It is understood from this hadith,
that except for the three measures mentioned in the hadith, any wealth that a person accumulates,
in reality, it is not his,
rather, it belongs to those heirs for whom he is going to leave it behind.

Explanation:
1:
The meaning is that a person considers as his own the wealth that is in his possession, whereas the true wealth is that which he has given in charity (sadaqah) for the sake of earning reward, and which he has set aside for the Day of Recompense. The rest of the wealth, he has consumed by eating and drinking, or worn out by using it until it became old and worn. Other than the wealth given in charity, no wealth will benefit him in the Hereafter. This hadith encourages spending on those who are deserving and in the ways beloved to Allah.

Explanation:
1:
The desire for increase has distracted you (At-Takathur: 1)

2:
That is:
The true wealth of the son of Adam is only that which he spent in the way of Allah,
or that which he himself ate, drank, and wore until it became worn out,
and the remaining wealth that is left behind is not truly his, but rather it belongs to his heirs.
