Hadith 69

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا عَبْدٍ أَبَقَ ، فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Jarir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: The slave who fled from his master, responsibility with regard to him was absolved.
