It is narrated on the authority of Jarir bin ''Abdullah that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) asked him on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage to make the people silent and then said: Do not return to unbelief after me by striking the necks of one another.

Vocabulary of the Hadith:
The Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wada‘) sermon in which the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed the people regarding the fundamental matters of religion and emphasized conveying it to those who were absent, and by saying, "La‘allī lā arākum ba‘da ‘āmī hādhā" ("Perhaps I will not see you after this year"), he indicated that he might not see them after that year.
It was called the Farewell (al-Wada‘).
Both the fatha (zabar) and kasra (zeer) on the letter ḥā’ of "ḥajjah" are correct.
This was his last pilgrimage,
and soon after it, he departed from this world.
Istansit:
Tell the people,
Be silent,
Make them quiet.
Kuffar:
Plural of "kafir" (disbeliever).
