باب مِنْ فَضَائِلِ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ أَهْلِ بَيْعَةِ الرِّضْوَانِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ:Chapter: The Virtues Of The Companions Of The Tree, Those Who Gave Their Oath Of Allegiance Bay'at Ar-Ridwan (RA)
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ مُبَشِّرٍ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ عِنْدَ حَفْصَةَ : " لَا يَدْخُلُ النَّارَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ أَحَدٌ الَّذِينَ بَايَعُوا تَحْتَهَا ، قَالَتْ : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَانْتَهَرَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ : وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا سورة مريم آية 71 ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا سورة مريم آية 72 " .
Umm Mubashshir reported that she heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying in presence of Hafsa: God willing, the people of the Tree would never enter the fire of Hell one amongst those who owed allegiance under that. She said: Allah's Messenger, why not? He scolded her. Hafsa said: And there is none amongst you but shall have to pass over that (narrow Bridge). Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has said: We would rescue those persons who are God-conscious and we would leave the tyrants to their fate there (xix. 72).

Vocabulary of the Hadith:

In sha Allah:
This phrase was said for the sake of seeking blessings (tabarruk),
not due to any doubt or uncertainty.
(2)
She said, "Yes":
Hafsa (radi Allahu anha) said this phrase to remove a certain doubt,
God forbid (na'udhu billah),
it was not intended as a rejection of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam),
because the apparent meaning of the verse is that every human will enter the Fire, and among this generality are also included those who pledged allegiance under the tree (shajarat),
so he replied,
the meaning of "entering" is to reach the Bridge (Sirat), so from there some believers will reach Paradise and the disbelievers
will fall into the Fire.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The Battle of Badr was the first confrontation between Islam and disbelief. The Companions (Sahabah) radi Allahu anhum ajma'in who participated in this battle are superior to other Companions. Glad tidings of Paradise have been given to all of them. According to the well-known opinion, the number of these Companions radi Allahu anhum ajma'in was three hundred and thirteen.
➋ In the 6th year of Hijrah, the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) intended to perform ‘umrah. Fourteen hundred Companions (radi Allahu anhum ajma'in) set out with him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) towards Makkah al-Mukarramah. At the place of Hudaybiyyah, the disbelievers stopped him. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) sent ‘Uthman (radi Allahu ta'ala anhu) as his representative to Makkah so that, by negotiating with the leaders of Quraysh, he might persuade them to remove the obstacle. When the return of ‘Uthman (radi Allahu ta'ala anhu) was delayed more than expected, a rumor spread that he had been martyred. Upon this, the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) took a pledge (bay‘ah) from the Companions (radi Allahu anhum ajma'in) to avenge the blood of ‘Uthman, which is called the Bay‘at al-Ridwan. The Companions (radi Allahu anhum ajma'in) who took this pledge are also definitely destined for Paradise.
➌ Everyone must pass over Hell (Jahannam). The sincere and righteous believers will cross over it, while sinful believers will fall into it. However, through the intercession of the Prophets, the friends of Allah (awliya’), the martyrs (shuhada’), and the memorizers of the Qur’an (huffaz), etc., they will gradually be saved and enter Paradise.
➍ In the blessed verse, by “wrongdoers” are meant the outright disbelievers and the hypocrites in creed, who will remain in Hell forever.
➎ There is no contradiction between the Noble Qur’an and authentic hadiths. Where an apparent contradiction seems to exist, the scholars clarify both texts in such a manner that no contradiction remains. The Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) also used to do likewise.
➏ If there is any difficulty in understanding the Qur’an or hadith, one should ask a scholar, and the scholar should provide clarification.
