“There is nothing heavier in the scale than good character.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Al-Adab, Hadith: 4799)
On the Day of Resurrection, the believers who possess good character will be the beloved of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and will be seated close to him.
(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Hadith: 272)
The majority of people will enter Paradise due to piety and good character.
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Az-Zuhd, Hadith: 4246)

There is no doubt that good character is a natural gift, as mentioned in the hadith: Allah, the Exalted, has already apportioned good character just as He has apportioned sustenance.
(Musnad Ahmad: 387/1, and Silsilat al-Ahadith as-Sahihah: 482/6, No. 2714)
If a person does not possess good character by birth, he should strive and make effort to acquire it, because bad character is contrary to human dignity.
And Allah knows best. (Fath al-Bari: 564/10)
