Hadith 2209

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قالا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عن النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ " .
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The fever is from the vehement raging of the (heat of Hell), so cool it with the help of water.
