'A'isha reported: We took 'Abdullah bin Zubair to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) so that he should put saliva in his mouth and we had to make a good deal of effort in order to procure them.

Hadith Commentary:
The virtue of Abdullah ibn Zubair radi Allahu anhu is sufficiently established by this alone.
Abdullah ibn Zubair was an Asadi Qurashi. Among the Muhajirun in Madinah, he was the very first child to be born, in the year 1 AH. His maternal grandfather, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu, himself recited the adhan in his ear.
He had a completely clear face, without a single hair on it, nor did he have a beard.
He was greatly devoted to fasting and performed many supererogatory (nafl) prayers. He was stout, very strong, and possessed an awe-inspiring personality.
He was one who accepted the truth, maintained ties of kinship, and possessed many virtues.
His mother was the daughter of Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu.
His maternal grandfather was Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu, his paternal grandmother was Safiyyah radi Allahu anha, the paternal aunt of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and his maternal aunt was Aisha radi Allahu anha. At the age of eight, he was honored with the pledge of allegiance (bay‘ah).
The oppressor Hajjaj ibn Yusuf killed him with great cruelty in Makkah.
On Tuesday, the 17th of Jumada al-Thani, 73 AH, he was hung on the gallows. After his martyrdom, Hajjaj ibn Yusuf was seized by the torment of Allah; whenever he would fall asleep, he would immediately wake up startled and say, “Abdullah is standing over my head to take revenge from me.”
In this way, after a few days of distress, this oppressor too perished.
In 64 AH, a large number of Muslims from Hijaz, Yemen, Iraq, and Khurasan pledged allegiance to Abdullah ibn Zubair radi Allahu anhu for the caliphate.
Abdullah ibn Zubair radi Allahu anhu also performed eight Hajj pilgrimages.
Today, the stories of the oppressors and the oppressed of that era remain.
If only the oppressors of today would take heed from them and pay attention to understanding the philosophy of the Qur’anic verse:
﴿فَقُطِعَ دَابِرُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ﴾ (al-An‘am: 45)
“So the last remnant of the people who did wrong was cut off. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”

Hadith Commentary:
When the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) arrived in Madinah Tayyibah, he sent Zayd bin Harithah (radi Allahu anhu) to Makkah so that he could bring his wife, Sawdah bint Zam’ah (radi Allahu anha), both daughters Fatimah (radi Allahu anha) and Umm Kulthum (radi Allahu anha), Umm Ayman (radi Allahu anha) and her son Usamah (radi Allahu anhu) from Makkah to Madinah.

Along with them, Abdullah bin Abi Bakr (radi Allahu anhu), his noble mother Umm Ruman (radi Allahu anha), and both sisters Aishah (radi Allahu anha) and Asma (radi Allahu anha) also came.

At that time, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was engaged in the construction of Masjid Nabawi.

These circumstances, and the statement of Asma (radi Allahu anha) that she gave birth to Abdullah bin Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) at the place of Quba, are evidence that Abdullah bin Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) was born in the first year of Hijrah.
(Fath al-Bari: 7/311.)

Among the Muhajirun in Madinah Tayyibah, he was the first child born.

Among the Ansar, after the Hijrah, the first child was Muslamah bin Makhlad, and in Abyssinia, after the migration, the first child was Abdullah bin Ja’far (radi Allahu anhu).

When Abdullah bin Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) was born, before he was breastfed, he was brought to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) named him Abdullah. Then, when he was seven or eight years old, his noble father Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) sent him to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) so that he could pledge allegiance to him. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), smiling, accepted his pledge of allegiance.

That is, he chewed it and placed it in their mouth; how blessed did that mouth become into which the saliva of Allah’s Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) entered! “That is the bounty of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills.” ( , al-Jumu‘ah: 4)
