Asma' reported that she had become pregnant at Makkah with'Abdullah bin Zubair (in her womb) and she (further) said: I set out (for migration to Madinah) as I was in the advanced stage of pregnancy. I came to Madinah and got down at the place known as Quba' and gave birth to a child there. Then I came to Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him). He placed him (the child) in his lap and then commanded for the dates to be brought. He chewed them and then put the saliva in his mouth. The first thing which went into his stomach was the saliva of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . He then rubbed his palate with dates and then invoked blessings for him and blessed him. He was the first child who was born in Islam (after Migration).

Hadith Commentary:
Vocabulary of the Hadith:
ana mutimm:
I had completed the days of childbirth,
meaning the period of nine months of pregnancy had passed.

Benefits and Issues:
After the migration to Madinah, the rumor spread that the Jews had cast magic upon the Muslims,
so no child would be born among them.
Therefore, when Abdullah radi Allahu anhu was born, a wave of immense happiness swept through the Muslims, and they all, with one voice, loudly proclaimed "Allahu Akbar,"
which made Madinah resound.

Hadith Commentary:
The first hadith was concise; the same incident is described in detail here. That child was Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr (radi Allahu anhuma), who later became a highly esteemed and noble figure.
Some Muslims were indeed distressed by the nonsense uttered by the Jews, but when this child was born, the Muslims, out of joy, raised the slogan of takbir (Allahu Akbar) from that very day, causing the entire city of Madinah to resound.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
After the migration (hijrah) to Madinah Tayyibah, the first child born among the Muhajirun was Abdullah ibn Zubair radi Allahu anhu. However, before him, among the Ansar, Nu'man ibn Bashir radi Allahu anhu had already been born after the hijrah.

(2)
When the Muhajirun came to Madinah Tayyibah, no male offspring was born to them. The rumor spread rapidly that the Jews had performed magic to prevent the Muslims from having children. The Muslims were grieved by this nonsense of the Jews. When this child was born, the Muslims raised the cry of takbir in such joy that the whole of Madinah resounded. (Fath al-Bari: 8/729)

(3)
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has proven from this hadith that Abdullah ibn Zubair radi Allahu anhu was named immediately after his birth. His 'aqiqah (sacrifice for a newborn) was not performed; otherwise, it would certainly have been mentioned. If 'aqiqah is not to be performed, then one should not wait for the seventh day to name the child. And Allah knows best.

Hadith Commentary:
When the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) arrived in Madinah Tayyibah, he sent Zayd bin Harithah (radi Allahu anhu) to Makkah so that he could bring his wife, Sawdah bint Zam‘ah (radi Allahu anha), both daughters Fatimah (radi Allahu anha) and Umm Kulthum (radi Allahu anha), Umm Ayman (radi Allahu anha) and her son Usamah (radi Allahu anhu) from Makkah to Madinah.

Along with them, Abdullah bin Abi Bakr (radi Allahu anhu), his noble mother Umm Ruman (radi Allahu anha), and both sisters Aishah (radi Allahu anha) and Asma (radi Allahu anha) also came.

At that time, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was engaged in the construction of Masjid Nabawi.

These circumstances, and the statement of Asma (radi Allahu anha) that she gave birth to Abdullah bin Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) at the place of Quba, are evidence that Abdullah bin Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) was born in the first year of Hijrah.

(Fath al-Bari: 7/311)

Among the Muhajirun in Madinah Tayyibah, he was the first child born.

Among the Ansar, after the Hijrah, the first child was Muslamah bin Makhlad, and in Abyssinia, after the Hijrah, the first child was Abdullah bin Ja‘far (radi Allahu anhu).

When Abdullah bin Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) was born, before he was breastfed, he was brought to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) named him Abdullah. Then, when he was seven or eight years old, his noble father Zubair (radi Allahu anhu) sent him to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) so that he could pledge allegiance to him. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), smiling, accepted his pledge.
