Hadith Commentary:
The child was brought to the service of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam immediately after birth.
From this, the purpose of the chapter is established.
Imam Ibn Hibban has also counted him among the Companions (Sahabah), because he saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, although he did not narrate from him.
"Hadathana Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna, hadathana Ibn Abi Adi, 'an Ibn 'Awn, 'an Muhammad, 'an Anas, wa saq al-hadith..."
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, from Ibn 'Awn, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, who narrates from Anas radi Allahu anhu that he reported this hadith (as previously mentioned) in full detail.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
In this hadith, the naming of the newborn and giving the newborn something to taste (tahneek) on the day of birth is mentioned. Although this hadith indicates that one should hasten in naming the newborn and giving tahneek, other authentic ahadith state that the name should be given on the seventh day, as narrated from Hazrat Samurah radi Allahu anhu, who said that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
"Every child is held in pledge for his 'aqiqah (sacrifice performed for a newborn). On the seventh day, his 'aqiqah should be performed, he should be named, and his head should be shaved."
(Sunan Abi Dawud, al-Dahaya, Hadith: 2839)
(2)
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah holds the view that if there is no plan to perform the 'aqiqah, then naming and other related matters should not be delayed until the seventh day; rather, the name should be given on the day of birth itself and tahneek should also be performed.
And Allah knows best.
