Hadith 4Q1

وَأَضْرَابِهِمْ مِنْ حُمَّالِ الآثَارِ وَنُقَّالِ الأَخْبَارِ. فَهُمْ وَإِنْ كَانُوا بِمَا وَصَفْنَا مِنَ الْعِلْمِ وَالسِّتْرِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مَعْرُوفِينَ فَغَيْرُهُمْ مِنْ أَقْرَانِهِمْ مِمَّنْ عِنْدَهُمْ مَا ذَكَرْنَا مِنَ الإِتْقَانِ وَالاِسْتِقَامَةِ فِي الرِّوَايَةِ يَفْضُلُونَهُمْ فِي الْحَالِ وَالْمَرْتَبَةِ لأَنَّ هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ دَرَجَةٌ رَفِيعَةٌ وَخَصْلَةٌ سَنِيَّةٌ
Although these individuals are known among the scholars for their knowledge and chastity (such qualities), yet among their contemporaries there are (some) other individuals who, in terms of precision and authenticity of narration, are superior to them in their rank and status. The reason for this is that among the scholars, this (memorization and precision) is a very high rank and an extremely superior quality.

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues:
There is always the possibility of error or forgetfulness when narrating hadith at any time. Therefore, a person who does not exercise complete caution and prudence is, in effect, attributing a false statement to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam deliberately. However, if a person narrates these traditions with full prudence and caution, only relating those which he remembers completely and is certain about, then there is no risk of a minor mistake, because he has devoted himself to this task, or he narrates while keeping the book in front of him. And «فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ» is in the imperative form, but it carries the meaning of a statement: "that his abode is Hell." Or it is a supplication: "that Allah, the Exalted, make his abode Hell."
