وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ فَتًى مِنْ أَسْلَمَ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْغَزْوَ وَلَيْسَ مَعِي مَا أَتَجَهَّزُ ، قَالَ : ائْتِ فُلَانًا ، فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ تَجَهَّزَ فَمَرِضَ ، فَأَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقْرِئُكَ السَّلَامَ ، وَيَقُولُ : أَعْطِنِي الَّذِي تَجَهَّزْتَ بِهِ ، قَالَ : " يَا فُلَانَةُ أَعْطِيهِ الَّذِي تَجَهَّزْتُ بِهِ ، وَلَا تَحْبِسِي عَنْهُ شَيْئًا فَوَاللَّهِ لَا تَحْبِسِي مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَيُبَارَكَ لَكِ فِيهِ " .
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik. And Abu Bakr ibn Nafi‘ narrated to me—and the wording is his—Bahz narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, that a young man from Aslam said: O Messenger of Allah, I want to go out for battle but I do not have anything with which to prepare myself. He said: Go to so-and-so, for he had prepared himself but fell ill. So he went to him and said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sends you greetings of peace and says: Give me what you have prepared. He said: O so-and-so (female), give him what I have prepared, and do not withhold anything from him. By Allah, do not withhold anything from it, so that it may be blessed for you.

Benefits and Issues:

It is necessary that any item or wealth that has been specifically dedicated for Allah,
and if a person is unable to spend it himself,
then he should entrust it to someone else.
Especially, equipment for jihad—there is blessing in spending it and lack of blessing in withholding it.
If an intention of vow (nadhar) or endowment (waqf) has been made regarding such wealth, then it is obligatory to spend it oneself or to give it to someone else.
Otherwise, it is recommended (mustahabb).
