A'isha reported that Hind came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah, by Allah, there was no other household upon the surface of the earth than your household about which I cherished Allah bringing disgrace upon it, (and now) there is no other household upon the surface of the earth than your household about which I cherish Allah granting it honour. Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: It is so, by Him in Whose Hand is my life She said: Allah's Messenger, Abu Sufyan (RA) is a niggardly person. Is there any harm for me if I spend upon his children out of his wealth without his permission? Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: There is no harm for you if you spend upon them what is reasonable.

Vocabulary of the Hadith:
Ayḍan:
Imam Ibn Teen has interpreted this to mean, "Now I also love you."
However, most scholars have interpreted it to mean that your faith will become stronger day by day, and accordingly,
there will be an increase in love for Allah and His Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and a turning away from hatred and aversion,
because the original meaning of "āḍ ayḍan" is to return and to turn back.

Hadith Commentary:
Hind's father, Utbah, was killed at the Battle of Badr by Amir Hamzah (radi Allahu anhu).
Therefore, Hind harbored intense enmity towards the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
To the extent that when Amir Hamzah (radi Allahu anhu) was martyred at the Battle of Uhud, Hind extracted his liver and chewed it. After this, when Makkah was conquered, she embraced Islam.

Benefits and Issues:
This hadith establishes that the maintenance (expenses) of the wife and children, according to the customs of the time, is the responsibility of the husband. According to the scholars of Hijaz, if a woman does not do household work in her parents’ home, or is unable to do so due to illness or other reasons, then it is the husband’s responsibility to provide a servant. According to the Hanafi scholars, this is the case when the husband is wealthy, and according to some, the intent is that if a slave-girl (bondwoman) comes with the woman for service, then her maintenance will be the responsibility of the husband. The intent is not that a servant should be hired for her on wages.
