Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported: When the Ka’bah was constructed the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) and Abbas went and lifted stones. Abbas said to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) : Place your lower garment on your shoulder (so that you may protect yourself from the roughness and hardness of stones). He (the Holy Prophet) did this, but fell down upon the ground in a state of unconciousness and his eyes were turned towards the sky. He then stood up and said: My lower garment, my lower garment; and this wrapper was tied around him. In the hadith transmitted by Ibn Rafi', there is the word: "On his neck" and he did not say: "Upon his shoulder."
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was carrying along with them (his people) stones for the Ka’bah and there was a waist wrapper around him. His uncle, 'Abbas, said to him: O son of my brother! if you take off the lower garment and place it on the shoulders underneath the stones, it would be better. He (the Holy Prophet) took it off and placed it on his shoulder and fell down unconscious. He (the narrator) said: Never was he seen naked after that day.

Hadith Commentary:
Benefits and Issues:
A person should not expose his private parts (satr) in front of others. The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), even before prophethood, due to his natural modesty and shyness, did open his lower garment (tehband) at the command of his uncle. However, he immediately fell unconscious and collapsed, and he was prevented from carrying out this act. This is because Allah, the Exalted, protects His prophets from wrongful actions even before prophethood. At that time, according to al-Zuhri, he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had not yet reached puberty. According to some, at that time his age was fifteen years; according to others, twenty-five; and according to Ibn Ishaq, thirty-five years.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
In the narration of Abu Tufayl, it is mentioned that when the lower garment (tehband) was removed and the private area (‘awrah) of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) became uncovered, a voice was heard:
“O Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)! Cover your private area (‘awrah).”
Before and after this, he was never seen naked.
(Fath al-Bari: 7/185.
Akhbar Makkah by Al-Azraqi: 1/194)
➋
From this hadith, it is understood that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was protected from indecencies and vices even before prophethood, and likewise, after prophethood, Allah the Exalted safeguarded him from every kind of indecency and disgrace.

Hadith Authentication (Takhrij al-Hadith):
[195۔ البخاري فى : 8 كتاب الصلاة : 8 باب كراهية التعري فى الصلاة وغيرها 364، مسلم 340، ابن حبان 1603]
Lexical Explanation:
«فَحَلَّهُ» He took it off.
«مَغْشِيًّا» One who becomes unconscious.
«عُرْيَانًا» Naked.
Understanding the Hadith:
It is understood that Allah, the Exalted, protected the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam even in his childhood from the evil customs of the people of ignorance (Jahiliyyah). It is also understood that covering the private parts (‘awrah) was a lifelong practice of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. He also commanded this, saying: "Protect your private parts from everyone except your wife and your slave woman." [حسن : المشكاة 3117، مسند أحمد 3/5 4، أبوداود 4017، ترمذي 2769]
That is, a person may reveal his private parts only before his wife and his slave woman.

Hadith Commentary:
1.
Nudity is prohibited both during prayer and outside of prayer. In the state of prayer, this is obvious, but even outside of prayer, it is religiously forbidden to keep the private parts uncovered without necessity.
The incident mentioned in the above narration pertains to a situation outside of prayer.
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah’s reasoning is as follows: when the observance of covering the private parts is so emphasized even outside of prayer, then it is all the more necessary during prayer.
Ibn Battal rahimahullah has written that when the incident of uncovering the lower garment occurred, the Prophet’s age at that time was fifteen years, and he had not yet been honored with prophethood.
Since nudity was contrary to his dignity, he immediately fell unconscious and was admonished so that it would not be repeated in the future, because the training of the Prophets (alayhimussalam) is under the special supervision of Allah Ta’ala from the very beginning.
Before prophethood, the correction of such matters was possible through other means, so under divine indication or natural disposition, he immediately became unconscious.
Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah has quoted from Tabarani rahimahullah the following words: he immediately stood up, controlled his voice, and said that he had been forbidden from walking while naked.
(Fath al-Bari: 1/615)
From this, it is understood that even before prophethood, the Prophet was protected from evil deeds and shameless acts.
In any case, Imam Bukhari rahimahullah’s purpose is that when nudity is not permissible even in ordinary circumstances for a specific need, then how can prayer be performed naked? Can one look at another naked?
(Sharh Ibn Battal: 2/27)
This means that in ordinary circumstances, being naked in front of others is prohibited.
However, in special circumstances, due to necessity, it is permissible.
Such special circumstances can be as follows: while bathing in the bathhouse, during surgery for the bladder or hemorrhoids, or at the time of childbirth, it is permitted to uncover the private parts.
And Allah knows best.

Hadith Commentary:
In that era, it was not considered blameworthy to be unclothed while working or laboring.
However, since this matter was contrary to dignity and honor, Allah did not permit even this for His beloved, even though at that time he had not yet received prophethood.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
This hadith mentions the construction of the Ka'bah.
At that time, the Quraysh were rebuilding it for the eighth time.
This establishes the virtue of Makkah Mukarramah, because the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) carried its stones on his shoulders.
At that time, he was thirty-five years old.
At that time, during labor and work, being naked was not considered blameworthy, which is why he removed his cloak and placed it on his shoulder. However, even then, such an act was contrary to dignity and honor, so Allah, the Exalted, did not allow this for His beloved (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
After that, he was never seen naked again.
(2)
It should be noted that this incident occurred before the time of Prophethood.
Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has established a chapter heading for this hadith in the following words: (باب كراهية التعري في الصلاة)
"Disapproval of being naked in prayer" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Salat, Chapter: 8)
