Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There will be soon a period of turmoil in which the one who sits will be better than one who stands and the one who stands will be better than one who walks and the one who walks will be better than one who runs. He who would watch them will be drawn by them. So he who finds a refuge or shelter against it should make it as his resort.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi
Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: The purpose of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is that a person should keep away from tribulations (fitan). Even to witness them or to examine them can become a cause for destruction and ruin. The more a person keeps away from them and strives to avoid them, the better it will be for him; and the closer he gets to them, the greater the harm he will suffer.
