Hadith 2808

Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Verily, Allah does not treat a believer unjustly in regard to his virtues. He would confer upon him (His blessing) in this world and would give him reward in the Hereafter. And as regards to a non-believer, he would be made to taste the reward (of virtue in this world) what he has done for himself so much that when it would be the Hereafter, he would find no virtue for which he should be rewarded.

Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) thus told him: When a non-believer does good he is made to taste its reward in this world. And so far as the believer is concerned, Allah stores (the reward) of his virtues for the Hereafter and provides him sustenance in accordance with his obedience to Him.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi
Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: When a disbeliever performs good deeds in this world for the pleasure and approval of Allah, he receives his reward in this world itself. However, a believer performs righteous deeds for the reward and recompense of the Hereafter; therefore, he will receive their reward in the Hereafter. Whatever he receives in this world is merely Allah’s grace and mercy, not the recompense or reward for his good deeds. The true reward will only be given in the Hereafter, as is mentioned in the following verse.
