Hadith Commentary:

Benefits and Issues:
From this hadith, it is understood that on the Day of Resurrection, the earth will be like a round, baked, reddish flatbread (roti), upon which there will be no kind of house, building, or landmark. It will be an absolutely plain and level field, upon which no kind of sin or act of disobedience will ever have been committed.

Hadith Footnote:
That is, there will be no building, path, garden, mound, or mountain in it.
The Qur'anic verses indicate that the land of resurrection will be different, as is evident from the verse: ﴿ يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الْأَرْضِ ﴾ (: Ibrahim: 48).

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
At that time, there will be no house, road, garden, mountain, or river, etc. on the earth; rather, the current form and appearance of the earth will be changed, as Allah the Exalted has stated:
“The Day when the earth and the heavens will be changed.” (: Ibrahim 14:48)
(2)
From some verses of the Noble Qur’an, the form of change in the earth that emerges is that on that day there will be no elevation or depression on the earth.
All mountains will be leveled to the ground, and all pits will be filled.
Similarly, the surface of the earth will be made even and will be much more expansive than before.
And the most significant change will be that the seas, rivers, and streams will be dried up.
Since the area of the sea’s surface is three times greater than that of the land, in this way, the transformed earth will be at least four times larger than the present earth, and instead of elevations and depressions, the entire earth will be level.
(3)
For this new earth and new heavens, the natural laws will also be different from the current laws, and it is on this very earth that Allah the Exalted’s court will be established.
The scale (mizan) for weighing deeds will also be set up on this earth, and then, according to people’s deeds, the decisions of reward and punishment will also be made at this very place.
In summary, Allah the Exalted, by His perfect power, will change the current form of the earth and, by creating the capacity for nourishment in it, will turn it into bread, so that during the long period of the Gathering (Mahshar), the believers may eat from beneath their feet and not suffer from hunger for such a long duration; as a side dish, ox liver and pieces of fish will be provided.
And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
