Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) set out on a journey in the morning, he used to say: "A listener listened to our praising Allah (for) His goodly trial of us. Our Lord! acompany us, guard us and bestow upon us Thy grace. I am seeker of refuge in Allah from the Fire."

Hadith Commentary: Vocabulary of the Hadith: (1) As-har: Awoke at the time of sahur (pre-dawn meal), or the time of sahur had arrived. (2) Sami‘ sami‘: Let a listener convey these words to others, Sami‘ sami‘: Let the listener hear, let him become a witness to our words, Bala’: Gift and favor, trial and test, Afdil ‘alayna: Bestow upon us with grace and generosity.
