باب مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ:Chapter: Whoever Loves To Meet Allah, Allah Loves To Meet Him, And Whoever Hates To Meet Allah, Allah Hates To Meet Him
Hadith 2683
حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ ، وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ " ،
Ubadah bin Samit reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who loves to meet Allah, Allah also loves to meet him, and he who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also abhors to meet him.

وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'Ubadah bin Samit through another chain of transmitters.

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: From the collection of ahadith presented in this chapter, it is established that the occasion and context for liking or disliking to meet Allah, is the time when a person is in the throes of death (naz‘, i.e., the agony of death), and he is informed of his fate in the Hereafter. The reward or punishment that awaits him in the Hereafter is unveiled to him. This matter is explained in full detail in the hadith of Aisha (radi Allahu anha) that follows.
