Hadith 2656

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " جَاءَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ يُخَاصِمُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْقَدَرِ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ { 48 } إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ { 49 } سورة القمر آية 48-49 " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the polytheists of the Quraish came to have an argument with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in regard to Destiny and then this verse was revealed: "On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces, taste the touch of Fire. Surely, We have created everything according to a measure" (liv. 48).
