Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi
Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: In Islam, the neighbor has been given great importance, and various ranks and degrees have been assigned to neighbors. The treatment of each neighbor will be according to his status and rank: One is simply a neighbor of the house, but he is not a Muslim. Another is both a neighbor and a Muslim. He is of good character and is your well-wisher and sympathizer, he is not your ill-wisher or enemy. Another neighbor is both a Muslim and your relative. One is a temporary neighbor, and another is a permanent and constant neighbor, as has been indicated in the Qur’an itself, Surah An-Nisa, verse number 47.
