حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِيَانِ الْفَزَارِيَّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَمْ أُبْعَثْ لَعَّانًا ، وَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported it was said to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : Invoke curse upon the polytheists, whereupon he said: I have not been sent as the invoker of curse, but "I have been sent as mercy."

Benefits and Issues:
It is not permissible to curse the polytheists without cause or reason.
However, if they wage war against the Muslims,
harass them, or plot against them, then in specific circumstances it is permissible to curse them,
as supplications are made against them in Qunut Nazilah.
