Hadith 2564

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Don't nurse grudge and don't bid him out for raising the price and don't nurse aversion or enmity and don't enter into a transaction when the others have entered into that transaction and be as fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him. The piety is here, (and while saying so) he pointed towards his chest thrice. It is a serious evil for a Muslim that he should look down upon his brother Muslim. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honour.

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) with some addition (and it is this):" Verily Allah does not look to your bodies nor to your faces but He looks to your hearts," and he pointed towards the heart with his fingers.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi
Hadith Commentary:
Vocabulary of the Hadith:
(1)
la yakhzulu-hu:
When he is in need of help and support, do not withhold your assistance from him.
Help and support him to save him from oppression and injustice,
that is, when it is possible for you to save him from oppression and injustice, do not avoid doing so.

(2)
la yahqiru-hu:
Do not consider him insignificant, nor treat him in a contemptuous manner.

(3)
at-taqwa hahuna:
The fear and consciousness of Allah (taqwa) pertains to the heart, and a person's honor and respect depend on taqwa.
It may be that you consider someone inferior based on outward appearance, while due to his inner taqwa he is honored and esteemed in the sight of Allah.
