باب فَضْلِ أَهْلِ عُمَانَ:Chapter: The Virtues Of The People Of Oman
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَازِعِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الرَّاسِبِيِّ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ ، يَقُولُ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا إِلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ ، فَسَبُّوهُ وَضَرَبُوهُ ، فَجَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ عُمَانَ أَتَيْتَ مَا سَبُّوكَ وَلَا ضَرَبُوكَ " .
Abu Barza reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent a person to a tribe amongst the tribes of Arabia. They reviled him and beat him. He came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and narrated to him (the story of atrocities perpetrated upon him by the people of the tribe). Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: If you were to come to the people of 'Uman, they would have neither reviled you nor beaten you.

By "Oman" is meant the region whose capital is Muscat,
which is originally included within Yemen,
and it does not refer to the region of Amman in Jordan,
in this way, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) praised the good conduct of those people.
